A look Inside the Book

Refuting Rabbinic Objections to Christianity

&

Messianic Prophecies

By Eitan Bar

"For us, Jews who grew up in Israel, Jesus and His word were never part of the conversation. Not in our school system, not in our synagogues, and not in our media. Nor do we have easy access to the New Testament. Jesus has been studiously avoided, and hidden from our people. Today in Israel, 99.7% of the Jewish population, reject Jesus as the Messiah. How did our country, where the gospel first took place, come to be so adamantly against it?

Within Judaism over the last two millennia, any kind of spiritual message had to go through the “gate keepers”, the Orthodox Jewish Rabbis. The Rabbinic Judaism of the Orthodox comes directly from the sect of the “Pharisees”, whom Jesus rebuked:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.” (Matthew 23:13)

Ever since the days of Messiah, the Rabbis have set themselves in opposition to the gospel, blocking the message of Jesus from Israel. They deliberately prevent Jewish people from hearing about the free salvation offered to them in the death and resurrection of their own Jewish Messiah. They have gone to great lengths to conceal Jesus, and keep him the best kept secret in Judaism., keeping our people in spiritual darkness.

But now the secret is out!"

Disciples Project Review - This book is a must read, not only for Jews but also for Christians! Many professing Christians are being subtly persuaded by Rabbinic Judaism into accepting the Seven Noahide Laws, which will require them to denounce Christ. I hope this book will help them wake up.

The Case For Christ

By Lee Strobel

Is there credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God?

Now a major motion picture, Case for Christ, Strobel retraces his own spiritual journey from atheism and former legal editor of the Chicago Tribune to faith. Strobel cross-examines a dozen experts with doctorates from schools like Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis who are recognized authorities in their own fields. He challenges them with questions like, how reliable is the New Testament? Does evidence for Jesus exist outside the Bible? Is there any reason to believe the resurrection was an actual event?

Strobel’s tough, point-blank questions read like a captivating, fast-paced novel. But it’s not fiction. It’s a riveting quest for the truth about history’s most compelling figure.

The new edition includes scores of revisions and additions, including updated material on archaeological and manuscript discoveries, fresh recommendations for further study, and an interview with the author that tells dramatic stories about the book's impact, provides behind-the-scenes information, and responds to critiques of the book by skeptics. As The Case for Christ and its ancillary resources approach 10 million copies in print, this updated edition will prove even more valuable to contemporary readers.

Disciples Project Review - I didn't agree with every  expert in the book; however, this is an excellent book for those who are searching for truth and as a witnessing tool.

Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus

A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity

By Nabeel Qureshi

In Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus, now expanded with bonus content, Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity, complete with friendships, investigations, and supernatural dreams along the way.

Providing an intimate window into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi struggled with an inner turmoil that will challenge Christians, Muslims, and all those who are interested in the world’s greatest religions.

Engaging and thought-provoking, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus tells a powerful story of the clash between Islam and Christianity in one man’s heart—and of the peace he eventually found in Jesus.

Disciples Project Review - This is a remarkable book! I was impressed by Mr. Qureshi’s search for truth and his desire to follow the truth no matter where it might lead him.

The Book of Mysteries

By Jonathan Cahn

Imagine if you discovered a treasure chest in which were hidden ancient mysteries, revelations from heaven, secrets of the ages, the answers to man’s most enduring, age-old questions, and the hidden keys that can transform your life to joy, success, and blessing…This is The Book of Mysteries.

The Book of Mysteries takes the readers on a journey of divine revelation through ancient Scriptures, the laws of Creation, the deep of God’s Word, the hidden streams of history, the most important keys of spiritual truth, end-time mysteries, and the secrets of life.

The Book of Mysteries opens up with a traveler and his encounter with a man known only as “the teacher.” The teacher takes him an on odyssey through desert mountains, valleys, gardens and plains, encounters with nomadic tent dwellers, caverns and ancient ruins, chambers of scrolls and vessels, and more. The reader is taken along to partake in the journey and in all the teachings and revelations. The traveler keeps a journal in which he writes down each of the mysteries given to him by the teacher in his one-year odyssey—365 different mysteries—one for each day of the year. Thus, on top of everything else, The Book of Mysteries is also a daily devotional unlike any other. And each mystery contains a special mission for each day of the year, a mission that takes the revelation and applies it to reality for a life-changing journey.

Disciples Project Review - This is an amazing book! Whether you choose to read it straight through as a book or as a daily devotional you will not be disappointed. It is truly "a treasure chest" of depth and beauty.

The Unseen Realm

By Michael S. Heiser

In The Unseen Realm, Dr. Michael Heiser examines the ancient context of Scripture, explaining how its supernatural worldview can help us grow in our understanding of God. He illuminates intriguing and amazing passages of the Bible that have been hiding in plain sight. You'll find yourself engaged in an enthusiastic pursuit of the truth, resulting in a new appreciation for God's Word.

  • Why wasn't Eve surprised when the serpent spoke to her?
  • How did descendants of the Nephilim survive the flood?
  • Why did Jacob fuse Yahweh and his Angel together in his prayer?
  • Who are the assembly of divine beings that God presides over?
  • In what way do those beings participate in God's decisions?
  • Why do Peter and Jude promote belief in imprisoned spirits?
  • Why does Paul describe evil spirits in terms of geographical rulership?
  • Who are the “glorious ones” that even angels dare not rebuke?

Click here for a look inside this book.

Disciples Project Review - Though I am not in agreement with everything Mr. Heiser states in his book, the benefits of this book far outweigh the problems. This is a great book to introduce many Christians to the Spiritual Realm that can be found within the pages of their Bibles. The Unseen Realm is both exciting and informative. It is a must-read for all Bible believing Christians.

The Islamic Antichrist

(Paperback)

by Joel Richardson

The Bible predicts that in the last days a charismatic leader will establish a global following in the name of peace. The Koran also predicts that a man will rise up to lead the nations, pledging to usher in an era of peace. The man in the Koran is called the Mahdi, or Islam's savior. However, the man in the Bible is the Antichrist. Joel Richardson's stunning research and analysis suggest that the Mahdi and the Antichrist are actually one and the same.

In The Islamic Antichrist, Richardson exposes Western readers to the traditions of Islam and predicts that the end times may not be far away. His book will stun readers unaware of the similarities between the Antichrist and the "Islamic Jesus." His research on the relationship between Christian end-time prophecy and Islamic expectations of world domination will shock readers and shape the debate over radical Islam for years to come. This is the book to read on the world's fastest growing religion and the future of the world.

TEMPLE

by

Robert Cornuke

In a book that is being heralded as "an investigative maserpiece" with "astounding archaeological and prophetic implications," TEMPLE: Amazing New Discoveries That Change Everything About the Location of Solomon's Temple, by Robert Cornuke, is sending shockwaves through the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian worlds.

Can you imagine the upheaval in political and religious thinking if the Temple Mount in Jerusalem is not the site of Solomon's and Herod's temples? And what if the stones of the Wailing Wall are not what tradition says? In this highly-researched, exciting book, the author proposes from current archaeological excavations and Scriptural corroboration that the true temple location is not where tradition teaches. This is must reading for anyone who wants to fit together the pieces of biblical records, current geo-polotics, and prophecy.

Says the author, "Let the adventure begin as we now take the Bible in one hand and a shovel in the other and dig up some long-lost buried bones of biblical history. Along the way we will walk unknown passageways, known only to the prophets of old, as we search for the true location of the lost temples of Solomon and Herod. We will also lift a candle into the dim recesses of history and uncover secrets about the Ark of the Covenant and the gold Mercy Seat's prophetic obligation as it relates to the future Millennial temple."

Jesus' Words Only

by

Douglas J. Del Tondo, Esq.

"Is Paul the Apostle who he really claims to be? Or is he a false prophet whose writings should be excluded from the New Testament? Attorney Douglas J. Del Tondo deftly argues his case in the book Jesus' Words Only.

A self-proclaimed "evangelical Christian" since age 15, Del Tondo informs readers in the book's introduction that his soul-searching began as a result of questioning the Baptist doctrine of eternal security and the Calvinist doctrine of perseverance of the saints. After searching for answers, Del Tondo was frustrated to find that although these teachings always originated with Paul, Jesus' words seemed to contradict Paul's. Irritated at what appeared to be an "incessant marginalization of Jesus in preference for Paul," Del Tondo asks and seeks to answer the controversial question: "Why not Jesus' words alone?"

A practicing attorney, Del Tondo's obvious skill for in-depth research and proficient prosecution is evident, as he lays down argument after argument to support his verdict: Paul is guilty of being a false prophet and, therefore, his writings should not be included in the New Testament. First, Del Tondo says, Paul never made a valid prophecy, which is the only way a true prophet could add text to the Bible (Deut. 18:15). Second, the writings of Paul negate the law, which Del Tondo says is clear evidence that he was a false prophet (Deut 13:5). Third, Del Tondo points out that Jesus' mention of Balaam in Revelation 2:14 points to Paul as the Balaam-type figure in the New Testament church. (Balaam was an Old Testament prophet who taught that eating meat sacrificed to idols is permissible, as did Paul.)

Del Tondo uses evidence from both early Church History and scripture to weave a convincing case against Paul, although Paulinists would argue that there are numerous holes in his theory. The majority of evangelical Christians will most likely find Del Tondo's charges heresy, saying that God would not allow his Word to be tainted in such a manner (Del Tondo even offers an answer for this). For Del Tondo and his claims, however, the jury is still out, and his book is food for thought for serious students of the Bible."

Aramaic English New Testament (AENT)

by Andrew Gabriel Roth

The Aramaic English New Testament (AENT) is the most definitive Aramaic to English translation that has come forth in nearly two millennia. Not only does this Aramaic based New Testament Bible render the Ancient Aramaic in a way that is easy for every English reader to understand, but it investigates nuances, poetry and hidden codes of the New Testament that until now have only been available to Hebrew and Aramaic scholars. This new edition now has the Aramaic text in Hebrew letters with modern vowel pointing.

Most New Testaments come from Greek translations that were originally translated from Hebrew and Aramaic texts. However, the Aramaic English New Testament comes directly from Aramaic. The meaning of an entire verse can easily be altered by a translation, for example; the Greek "Kurios" is often rendered as "Lord", however there is both "LORD" (the Father) and "Lord" (the Son), which the translator must choose. However the Father (YHWH) and Son are clearly distinguished in Aramaic, there is no confusion about the speaker or Who is being addressed.

  Hebrew Gospel of Matthew

by George Howard

For centuries the Jewish community in Europe possessed a copy of Matthew in the Hebrew Language. The Jews’ use of this document during the Middle Ages is imperfectly known. Occasionally excerpts from it appeared in polemical writings against Christianity. By the end of the fourteenth century, however, the entire Hebrew Gospel of Matthew appeared in the polemical treatise Even Bohan, by the Spanish Jewish apologist Shem-Tob ben-Isaac Ben-Shaprut.

The present book is a revised edition of The Hebrew Gospel of Matthew according to a Primitive Hebrew Text (1995) in which the Hebrew text of the Gospel of Matthew as it appeared in Even Bohan is printed, accompanied by an English translation and an expanded and thorough revision of Howard’s critical analysis.

  The Pursuit of God

by A.W. Tozer

During a train trip from Chicago to Texas in the late 1940's, A.W. Tozer began to write The Pursuit Of God. He wrote all night, the words coming to him as fast as he could put them down. When the train pulled into McAllen, the rough draft was done. Although written in such a remarkably short period of time, Tozer's passionate classic offers not only a deeper understanding of Biblical Truth, but a personal encounter with the very Source of that Truth.

Whether you are thirsting for more of God or do not yet know of the "mighty longing after God" that so consumed A.W. Tozer's life and ministry, The Pursuit of God will draw you into a deep, abiding relationship with the One who "nourishes the soul." This spiritual masterpiece exposes the roadblocks that keep us from fully knowing God, Reveals our responsibility of the pursuit, and ultimately leads us into the very presence of God Himself.

The  Irresistible Kingdom

by Chip Brogden

What does that mean? A Spiritual Revolution. " God's Ultimate Purpose and Intention finds expression in something that the Bible refers to as The Kingdom of God. At the center of this Kingdom is a Person: Jesus Christ. As we find out what the Bible has to say about this Person, and the Kingdom that surrounds Him, we will come to the conclusion that this is an Irresistible Kingdom."

The Seduction of Christianity

by Dave Hunt &

T.A. McMahon

The Bible clearly states that a great Apostasy must occur before Christ’s second coming. Today Christians are being deceived by a world view more subtle and more seductive than any before.

What are the dangers in the growing acceptance and practice of—

  • positive and possibility thinking
  • healing of memories
  • self-help philosophies
  • holistic medicine

The seduction of Christianity will not appear as a frontal assault or oppression of our religious beliefs. Instead, it will come as the latest fashionable philosophies offering to make us  happier, healthier, better educated, and even more spiritual.
