JESUS CHRIST

  The Holy One

There are those who believe Jesus Christ was just a special Man. Others believe He was the “thoughts” (Logos) of God, but that He didn’t exist in any other form. But, what does the Bible say.

This study is on Jesus Christ the Holy One of God.

According to Strong’s concordance “Holy One” appears seven times in the New Testament. The verses are as follows.

Mark 1:23-24

“Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying; “let [us] alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? “Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are – the Holy One of God!”

Luke 1:35

And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.

Note – The King James Version translated “Holy One” as “Holy Thing” in this verse.

However,  both the words “Holy One” as used in the other six verses and

“Holy Thing” are from the  same Greek word. It is also the same word

translated in the New Testament as “saint”.

Holy One (Thing) (40) ἅγιος, hag’-ee-os; (an awful thing) [compare (53) (ἁγνός), Hebrew {2282} (חָג)]; sacred (physical pure, moral blameless or religious, ceremony consecrated): — (Translated in King James version as)  (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

 Luke 4:33-34

“Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are- the Holy One of God!”

Acts 2:22-27

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know- 23 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; 24 whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. 25 For David says concerning Him: ‘I foresaw the Lord always before m face, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. 26 Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. 27 For You will not leave my soul in Hades, nor will You allow Your Holy one to see corruption. 28 You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.

Acts 3:13-15

“The God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let [Him] go. 14But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.”

Acts 13:33-35

“God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My son, today I have begotten you.’ 34 And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption. He has spoken thus: I will give you the sure mercies of David.’ 35 Therefore He also says in another Psalm: You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.’”

1 John 2:20

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

NOTES – 1. Acts 2:27 and Acts 13:35 are a direct quote from Psalms 16:10

                                 2. Acts 13:33 is a quote from Psalms 2

                                 3. Note that Acts 13:33 says “their children”

Psalm 2

“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of the  earth Set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, [saying], 3 Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us. 4He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The LORD shall hold them in derision.5Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: 6 Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”7 I will declare the decree; The LORD has said to Me, You [are] My Son, today I have begotten You.8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance and the ends of the Earth for Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash Then to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be Instructed, you judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His Wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed [are] all those who put their trust in Him.

NOW LET’S GO TO THE OLD TESTAMENT

“Holy One” is taken from the following Hebrew word

{6918} קָדוֹשׁ; qadowsh, kaw-doshe'; or vdoq; qadosh, kaw-doshe';from 6942; sacred (ceremonially or morally); (as noun) God (by eminence), an angel, a saint, a sanctuary: — (Translated in King James version as) holy (One), saint.

{6942} קָדַשׁ; qadash, kaw-dash'; a primitive root; to be (causatively, make, pronounce or observe as)  clean (ceremonially or morally): — (Translated in King James version as) appoint, bid, consecrate, dedicate, defile, hallow, (be, keep) holy(-er, place), keep, prepare, proclaim, purify, sanctify(-ied one, self), X wholly.

Job 6:10

“Then I would still have comfort; though in anguish I would exult, He will not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One.

Psalm 16:10

“For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.”

Psalm 71:22-23

“Also with the lute I will praise You – and Your faithfulness, O my God! To You I will sing with the harp, O Holy One of Israel. 23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed.

Psalm 78:40-42

“How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert! 41 Yes, again and again the tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They did not remember His power; the day when He redeemed them from the enemy,”

Psalm 89:18

“For our shield belongs to the LORD, and our king to the Hoy One of Israel.

Isaiah 1:4

“Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backwards.”

Isaiah 5:18-19

“Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of vanity and sin as if with a art rope; 19 that say ‘Let Him make speed and hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it.”

Isaiah 5:24

“ Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble, and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root will be as rottenness, and their blossom will ascent like dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 10:16-17

“Therefore the Lord, the Lord of hosts, will send leanness among His fat ones; And under His glory He will kindle a burning like the burning of a fire. 17 So the Light of Israel will be for a fire,
And His
Holy One for a flame; it will burn and devour His thorns and His briers in one day.

John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:11-13

Matthew 3:11-13

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier  than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Jesus said in Luke 12:49

Luke 12:49

“I came to send fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

 Jesus said in Matthew 13:14:24-30

Matthew 13:24-30

Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

Isaiah 10:20-21

“And it shall come to pass in that day that the remnant of Israel, and such as have escaped the house of Jacob, will never again depend on him who defeated them, but will depend on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. 21 The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the Might God.

NOTE – Remember John 1:17

“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Isaiah 12:3-6

“Therefore with joy you will draw eater from the wells of salvation. 4 And in that day you will say, ‘Praise the LORD, call upon His name; declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is exalted. 5 Sing to the LORD, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. 6 Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst.

Isaiah 17:7

“In that day a man will look to his Maker and his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 29:19

“The humble also shall increase their joy in the LORD; and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.”

Isaiah 29:22-24

“Therefore thus says the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: ‘Jacob shall not now be ashamed nor shall his face now grown pale; 23 but when he sees his children, the work of My hands, in his midst, they will hallow My name, and hallow the Holy One of Jacob, and fear the God of Israel.’

Isaiah 30:8-18, 29

Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and note it on a scroll, that it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever: 9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the LORD; 10 who say to the seers, “Do not see,” and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things; speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. 11 Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, cause the
Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:

“ Because you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perversity, and rely on them, 13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you like a breach ready to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. 14 And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments a shard to take fire from the hearth, or to take water from the cistern.”

15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel:
“ In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
But you would not, 16 and you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”— Therefore you shall flee!
And, “We will ride on swift horses”—  Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!
17 One thousand shall flee at the threat of one, at the threat of five you shall flee, till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain and as a banner on a hill. 18 Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him

29 You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept, and gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the Mighty One of Israel.

Isaiah 31:1

“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD!

Isaiah 37:22, 23-24a

“This is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning him: 23 ‘Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel, 24 by your servants you have reproached the Lord…

Isaiah 40:25-29

“To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal? says the Holy One. 26 Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing. 27 why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel: My way is hidden from the LORD, and my just claim is passed over by my God? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary, His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”

Isaiah 41:14-23

“Fear not you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I will help you, says the LORD and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. 15 Behold I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, and make the hills like chaff. 16 You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; you shall rejoice in the LORD, and glory in the Holy One of Israel. 17 The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them; I the God of Israel, will not forsake them. 18 I will open rivers in desolate heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. 19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree the myrtle and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine and the box tree together, 20 That they may see and know, and consider and understand together, that the hand of the LORD has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it. 21 Present your case, says the LORD. Bring forth your strong reasons says the King of Jacob. 22 Let them bring forth and show us what will happen; let them show the former things, what they were that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare to us things to come. 23 Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you are gods; yes, do good or do evil, that we may be dismayed and see it together.

NOTE – Regarding verse 20 see John 1:1-3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Isaiah 43:3-4

“For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place 4 Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life.

Isaiah 43:14-15

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; for your sake I will send to Babylon, and bring them all down as fugitives- the Chaldeans, who rejoice in their ships 15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

Isaiah 45:11-13

“Thus says the LORD the Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; and concerning the work of My hands, you command Me. 12 I have made the earth, and created man on it. I – My hands – stretched out the heavens and all their host I have commanded. 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways; He shall build My city and let My exiles go free, not for price nor reward, says the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 47:4

“As for our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 48:17-18

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go. 18 Oh, that you had heeded my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Isaiah 49:1-9

“Listen, O coastlands to Me, and take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; from the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name. 2 And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, and made Me a polished shaft; in His quiver He has hidden Me. 3 And He said to me, You are My servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. 4 Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in vain; yet surely my just reward is with the LORD, and my work with my God. 5 And now the LORD says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him (for I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and My God shall be My strength), 6 Indeed He says, ‘it is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth. 7 Thus says the LORD the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to the Servant of rulers; kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel; and He has chosen You. 8 Thus says the LORD: In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I will preserve You and give You as a covenant to the people, to restore the earth to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; 9 that You may say to the prisoners, ‘Go forth,’ to those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’ They shall feed along the roads, and their pastures shall be on all desolate heights.

NOTE – There is so much packed into these few verses. Verse 2 reminds me of

Hebrews 4:12-13

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Note – Jesus Christ is the Word of God

Revelation 19:11-14

Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.

Revelation 1:12-17

“Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.   17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.

Verses 3-6, of Isaiah 49, reminds me of

Acts 3:1-26

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.     2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God. 10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
17 “Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. 18 But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. 19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’  24 Yes, and all the

prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’  26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

Matthew 12:15-21

But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. 16 Yet He warned them not to make Him known, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. 19 He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. 20 A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory; 21 And in His name Gentiles will trust.”

Matthew 12:15-21 is a quote from Isaiah 42 which reads

Isaiah 42:1-8

“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk on it: 6 “ I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles, 7 To open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. 8 I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.

Isaiah 42 in turn reminds me of

John 1:3-5

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 8:12

“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Luke 4:14-20

Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. 15 And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
“ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,

           Because He has anointed Me
               To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,
               To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.

Luke 4:14-20 is a direct quote from Isaiah 61:1-2

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,
Because the LORD has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all
who mourn,

From Isaiah 49:1-9 through Isaiah 61:1-2, everything is connected.

Now Back to passages on the Holy One

Isaiah 54:5-8

“For your maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth. 6 For the LORD has called you like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a youthful wife when you were refused, says your God. 7 For a mere moment I have forsaken you, but with great mercies I will gather you. 8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; but with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says the LORD, your Redeemer.

Isaiah 55:5

“Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you, because of the LORD your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.

Isaiah 60:9

“Surely the coastland shall wait for Me; and the ships of Tarshish will come first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you.

Isaiah 60:14

“Also the sons of those who afflicted you shall come bowing to you, and all those who despised you shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet; and they shall call you the City of the LORD; Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Jeremiah 50:29

“Call together the archers against Babylon. All you who bend the bow encamp against it all around; let none of them escape. Repay her according to her work; according to all she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against the LORD; against the Holy One of Israel.

Jeremiah 51:5

“For Israel is not forsaken, nor Judah, by his God, the LORD of hosts, though their land was filled with sin against the Holy One of Israel.

Ezekiel 39:7
